Initially I started this site to give all Löwchen fanciers access to every item I have gathered in all the years I have been in this breed-which is almost 40 years!!! All items ultimately will be placed into the AKC Archives. There they will be available to all that care to research this breed. The AKC archives will contain all records and photos going back to the original 6 dogs of Madame Bennert and Dr. Rickert and those that followed, that I have gathered.
I have also been able to include the book I wrote “THE LÖWCHEN, A BREED FORGOTTEN BY HISTORY” that took over 10 years to research and was completed about 25 years ago. I am happy that the book is still relevant today. I do plan on an update in the future.
I have always believed: If you don’t know where your breed came from you have no idea where it should go!
As I have been working on the site, I decided to expand its scope from solely historical to be a broader information base. In the future you will find sections including a puppy guide, training, breeding, and health among other topics that no doubt will pop up.
This site is under construction and will be for some time considering the amount of materials waiting to be included. Be aware the categories that are live are NOT in final form and will include further materials as the site builds out. I welcome contributors to the site. Contact me with your ideas please! In the meantime, keep checking back for new items. I will make announcements on some facebook groups with up dates periodically.
